Having enjoyed teaching at the studio and having made many friends during my time, Sylvia reached out to me and asked if I'd like to take over and become the new owner. It was the perfect opportunity at the right time.
Our mission is to provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment to practice in and to bring a quality yoga experience to as many people as possible.
We are proud and excited to be of service and look forward to meeting and greeting you all.
Owner of Gateway Yoga Studio
I first found my way to a yoga class after seeing my youngest child off to college. It was a time of change in my life thus I was looking for a new direction. I found that direction with yoga, because you see from the first time I ever stepped onto a yoga mat I was enthralled. The practice of yoga, simply put worked for and made since to me. Having established a vibrant practice it soon became apparent that I should take that practice to the next level with a 200 hour teacher training course. I became a RYT200, registered yoga teacher on June 29th 2015. That was just the beginning. Since that time I have continued with my education in the form of teacher certifications and immersions, most recently having completing a Lakshmi Voelker chair yoga certification. I firmly believe that if a person has the desire to practice yoga they should have the opportunity to do so regardless of any physical challenges that may be present. I feel it is my responsibility to make yoga accessible to those who seek it. I took on the challenge of opening a yoga studio when the opportunity presented itself in July of 2017. After countless hours, and more than a few setbacks renovation of the studio was completed. It was and continues to be a labor of love. Our lives carry us in many directions. The challenge is to stay present in the moment, and to make each moment count. Perhaps the time is right for you to find your way to a yoga practice.
200 RYT Looking for something to help me relieve/handle stress, I took my first Yoga class in 2011 and received much more than expected - I found myself. Life is not everything outside of us - it's what is inside. When we take time to quiet and still our mind, which yoga helps us do, we find gems. The gems are the tools we need to handle the outside with a sense of peace and calm. My hope is to have you receive the gift that Yoga has been to me. My classes are designed with intention of enabling you to go within and be present to yourself; letting go of everything outside to just be where you are - perfect in the present moment; and hopefully carry that with you out of class.
